I don’t think I need to tell you Hurricane Irma is a thing. Irma is in the middle of hitting Florida, and it has already hit the Caribbean islands, killing 20 people. No matter what coast of Florida someone is on, they are getting hit with this. Florida isn’t that far away. Chances are, you know someone who lives there. According to The Weather Channel, winds are going to reach up to 150+ in some areas. So many families are displaced, and it is up to us to help them.
A couple months ago, I began sponsoring a child in Bolivia, Selena, through World Vision. World Vision works tirelessly in communities all around the world, including the United States, to provide safe and healthy spaces for children and families. This is an organization I trust. Last year, 85% of donations went directly into programs to benefit communities and people in need (9% to fundraising and 6% to management). For their Hurricane Irma Disaster Relief Fund, 90% of your donation will directly help those impacted by Hurricane Irma. Working with World Vision is easy and they have helped connect me to so many people in need. You will know exactly where your money is going. They will update on how your donation has helped.
